What to do in Boston

The Greater Boston area is filled with history, activities, shopping and love for its sports teams. There is so much to do for families with children. Home to the American Revolution, you are sure to keep busy in one of the nation’s first cities.

Assembly Row & Somerville

Assembly Row in Somerville is the home of LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston. Somerville is an all-American city just a few miles from Boston. Recognized as one of the country’s best communities for young people and for its healthy living, this great city is full of festivals, diversity and historic landmarks. Assembly Row is a new neighborhood and development which offers outlet shopping at stores like Saks off 5th, great restaurants such as Legal Sea Foods’ Legal C Bar and, of course, LEGOLAND® Discovery Center! This is the perfect place to come and spend the day with kids.

Tour History

Boston and its surrounding areas are full of history. Whether it is the first public park in the United States, the first public school, or the first University, there is plenty to experience. A great way to see the highlights is by walking the red line of the Freedom Trail. If you prefer to ride rather than walk, you can’t beat a Duck Tour or Trolley Tour.

Museums

There are plenty of museums to explore in the area. If you enjoy art, the must-sees are the Museum of Fine Arts and the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). Try the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum for a unique experience which combines virtual exhibits and historic artifacts. Family friendly museums also include the Boston Science Museum, Boston Children’s Museum and the New England Aquarium.

Sports

A favorite spot for visitors and locals alike are the homes of Boston’s beloved sports teams. Fenway Park is America’s oldest operating baseball park and home to Boston Red Sox. If basketball or hockey are your sports, stop by the Garden to catch a Celtics or Bruins game.

Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market

One of the most popular stops in Boston is the famous Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Street performers can be found year-round in this outdoor hot spot of shops and restaurants.
