Educational Workshops
Our school workshop classes are designed to correspond with the Illinois State Curriculum to introduce or reinforce classroom concepts. Subjects such as Art, Mathematics and Science come alive in the colorful world of LEGO®.
LEGOLAND Discovery Center Workshops are only available to organized groups.

• Each workshop comes complete with teacher notes and take home worksheets

 | Tall Towers Workshop | |
Tall Towers Workshop is a 30-minute educational workshop intended to introduce young learners to the world of architecture. Held inside the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, learners who participate in the workshop are able to learn by playing and provinding them a fun, unique, hands-on educational opportunity. Learners in Tall Towers participate in building challenges intended to teach them the importance of teamwork and communication. Tall Towers also provides a classroom setting where participants learn about elementary construction principals, natural and man-made structures in their world, and the effects of natural disasters on tall buildings.
• Recommended Ages: 6-10

 | Tall Towers Jr. | |
Tall Towers Jr. is a hands-on workshop that helps participants learn how to follow directions, recognize shapes and patters, and develop fine motor skills. Participants build LEGO® towers of various shapes, colors, and patterns. A fun, hands-on way to introduce young learners to classroom instruction.
• Recommended Ages: 3-5

 | Racecar Workshop | |
The Racecar Workshop is a fun, hands-on way to get participants excited about mathematics and introduce them to elementary physics. Participants build LEGO® racecars, race them on a track, collect data, and use arithmetic to calculate their car's performance. Participants also learn about the forces that affect their car and use this information to create racing machines!
• Recommended Ages: 9-12

 | Chicago Skyline Tour | |
The Chicago Skyline Tour is a unique, interactive guided tour through the LEGOLAND® Chicago Skyline exhibit. Participants will learn how the history of Chicago shaped its world famous skyline. Afterward, students are challenged to think critically about designing a new building for Chicago in a hands-on classroom setting.

 | Pablo Picasso Workshop | |
The Pablo Picasso Workshop is an art class that introduces participants to the artistic possibilities of LEGO® sculptures and will use mathematics to figure out how to create a large-scale model of their original sculpture.

 | Counting Sheep Workshop | |
The Counting Sheep Workshop is an exciting, hands-on, counting workshop to help develop and reinforce number and counting skills in pre-school students. Participants will become LEGO® farm hands, helping Farmer Pete, count, feed, group, and sort LEGO DUPLO® animals. Designed to help relate abstract numbers to concrete objects, participants will love playing and learning with colorful animals.

 | Play Well Jr. Workshop | |
The Play Well Workshop is an interactive, unique, and playful way to help pre-school children evaluate, discuss, and explore the world around them. Participants will investigate and manipulate LEGO® DUPLO® various vignettes to explain the activities and motivations of various characters. This workshop is a great way to help develop social and emotional skills in younger learners while teaching them how to play well in a comfortable and colorful LEGO world.
