As part of the 9th Annual 100.7 WHUD Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Radiothon benefiting the children’s hospital for the Hudson Valley and Fairfield County
[October XX, 2013 - Yonkers, NY] —LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Westchester will build a LEGO® brick mosaic in the lobby of Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center during the 9th Annual 100.7 WHUD Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Radiothon on Wednesday, October 16th and Thursday, October 17th to help raise funds to support the essential care the hospital provides to the area’s most seriously ill and injured children. The mosaic will be unveiled on Thursday, October 17th, 2013 at 9:00 am by the attraction’s Master Model Builder David Howard.
“The work that Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center does is extraordinary,” said Chris Mines, General Manager of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester. “It’s an honor to work with both the hospital and 100.7 WHUD to help raise money for sick and injured children in the area.”
The build was designed using a special LEGO Mosaic program. “It is all designed on a computer first and printed on base plates that come together to make the larger picture,” said LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester Master Model Builder David Howard. The mosaic will take approximately 16 hours to complete and will use 13,824 LEGO bricks.
The lobby of Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital turns into a radio studio October 16, 17 and 18 as WHUD radio personalities broadcast live from the hospital during the Radiothon. Listeners can call (888) 499-5437 during the live Radiothon October 16, 17 and 18 to make a donation or visit www.whud.com. 100% of proceeds will stay local to help the region’s children.
