Planning A Visit
The main difference between LEGOLAND and LEGOLAND Discovery Center is the size. LEGOLAND Discovery Center is an indoor play area with building activities and rides for young children while LEGOLAND is a theme park with rides, shows, and attractions for everyone.
LEGOLAND Discovery Center Attraction
Adults must be accompanied by at least one child (age 17 or younger) in their party to enter. The attraction is best suited for children ages 3-10.
For Adult Fans of LEGO (who do not have children), we host exclusive adults only evenings with additional activities, programming and competitions to enhance the experience for older guests.
LEGO® Store
Our LEGO® Gift Shop is open to the public and everyone, including adults without children, may enter. The store is directly adjacent to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center attraction.
All children must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
We accept most major credit and debit cards including VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Our attraction and gift shop are cashless and do not accept cash or check payment.
If you only have cash, you can stop by the Crown Center Guest Services located in Crown Center Shopping on the second level to convert your cash into a Crown Center gift card to use at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City.
Crown Center Parking uses a new Pay-by-plate technology.
Each time your vehicle drives through the entrance and exit, a camera takes a photo of your license plate and records a timestamp to facilitate the visit. When you drive out, your account will automatically be charged for the duration of your parking session.
We highly recommend either visiting https://metropolis.io/join or scanning the QR code in the garage to set up your account prior to visiting our attraction in order to save time in admissions during your visit.

We recommend parking in any of the Crown Center Garages. Garage entrance P2 and P3 are the closest to our entrance.
If you have an oversized vehicle (over 6’5”) that will not fit in the garage you will need to park either on the street or at union station. Please note that we cannot validate parking for street parking or union station.

We offer a 6 hour parking validation for guests visiting our attraction or making a $50+ plus purchase in our retail store. Parking validation is located at the admissions desk or the retail check out.
Please note that you can only use one parking validation. Parking validations will not stack.

For the most enjoyable experience, we encourage guests to visit on weekday afternoons & evenings. Mornings, weekends and holidays tend to be much busier.
But, to ensure our guests have the best experience possible, we limit the number of visitors that can be in the Center at one time. The best way to ensure your family's entry is by buying tickets online in advance.
You may re-enter the attraction up until the last entry time of the day.
Restrictions include, but are not limited to, the items listed below:
- Weapons of any kind or objects that appear to be weapons including firearms, ammunition, fireworks, water grenades (metal or plastic), or knives.
- Outside food, including alcoholic beverages or bottles.
- Recreational devices with wheels, such as Segways, skateboards, hover boards, balance boards, scooters, inline skates, or shoes with built-in wheels.
- Pets or other animals, except service animals.
- Smoking and Vaping of any kind
- Any other items that Management determines may be suspicious, harmful, unsafe, or disruptive.
We encourage families to interact together and explore their imagination and creativity through a world of open play, and therefore visits are not guided. The typical visit takes 2-3 hours, but you are welcome to stay for as long as you wish.
We do not allow outside food or beverage, unless caring for babies or food allergies in children.
We proudly serve Starbucks as well as a variety of other refreshments and snacks in our Café. Allergen information is available upon request.
Yes, we are fully accessible for visitors with disabilities and wheelchair users. We do not provide wheelchair or stroller rentals at our attraction.

We do not have wheelchairs or electric scooters, however, you may rent wheelchairs on a first-come, first-serve basis from the Crown Center Customer Service Desk located on LEVEL 2 of Crown Center Shopping.
Yes. We ensure that there are always staff members at the LEGOLAND Discovery Center who are trained in first aid.
- For health and safety reasons, expectant mothers should not ride.
- Merlin’s Apprentice:
- Guests must be 36 inches to ride.
- Guests must be 48 inches to ride alone.
- Guests between 36 and 48 inches must ride with an adult.
- Kingdom Quest:
- All guests must be able sit upright unaided.
- No infants carried in arms and no lap-sitting.
- Guests under 51 inches in height and younger than 4 years of age must have an adult sitting with them in the same row.
- Virtual Reality:
- All guests must be 40 inches to ride.
- Loose articles are not permitted on our rides for your safety.
- This includes purses, handbags, shopping bags, cross-body bags as well as any items that are hand-held.
- Cell phones and cameras must be secured in a pocket and cannot be held.
- Food and drink are not permitted on our rides.
- All riders must be wearing shoes.
- Guests in wheelchairs must be able to transfer to the ride vehicle in order to ride.
- Service animals are not permitted on rides.

Tickets
All guests age 2 (two) and up require a ticket to enter the attraction. We encourage families to explore our attraction together.
Children age 1 (one) and under are free. If the online ticket package doesn't prompt you to add a free ticket for them, we'll add one for you at the door when you arrive.
To ensure our guests have the best experience possible, we have limited the number of visitors that can be in the Center at one time. All guests buying tickets online OR at the door will be required to make a reservation for an entry time.
Advanced Purchase - Best Value and Guaranteed Entry
- Visit the Ticket Options page to book your tickets online.
- Upon your arrival to the Center, you will enter the line at the start of your reservation.
- Please note during peak periods such as holidays, Spring break and Summer there may be a small wait upon entering the reservation line.
Walk-Up Purchase
- If you purchase tickets at the door, you will be required to reserve the next available time slot.
- Please note, during peak times, we may sell out of walk-up tickets. The only way to guarantee your entry is to purchase your tickets on advance online.
Once inside, stay as long as you like.
When booking your ticket you will be asked to select a date and time for your arrival. This helps us make your experience more enjoyable by reducing queue times, speeding up your entry in to the attraction and reducing crowding. Once inside the attraction, you may stay as long as you like!
For the best price, book online at least 24 hours in advance of your visit.
Promotional codes apply to LEGOLAND Discovery Center general admission tickets only. They are not valid on COMBO tickets.

If you have a ticket without a scheduled entry time like our Gift Ticket with flexible entry or a complimentary ticket, you do not need to schedule a visit time. Be sure to check out our opening times on our website before you visit. Then just enter the line when you arrive with your tickets in-hand.
We strive to keep all our experiences and rides open during your visit, but this is subject to change without notice as they may be unavailable for unscheduled reasons.
During peak times, you may experience a short wait in the line as guests enter the Center. All tickets must be scanned to enter the Center.
Guests that are a half hour late or more for their reservation will enter the line, but may experience a longer than usual wait time. All tickets must be scanned to enter the Center.
We can attempt to schedule your tickets for a different date but rescheduling your tickets cannot be guaranteed. Ticket date changes are based on the pricing and availability of tickets when you'd like to visit.

Yes, ADA Caregivers do require a ticket to accompany a person with a disability to LEGOLAND Discovery Center. We do offer a discounted ticket at walk-up for licensed ADA caregivers.
No, you do not have to visit both attractions in the same day. The timeslot you select to visit is your arrival time to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City. You're welcome to visit SEA LIFE any time within 30 days of your initial visit.
The average family spends 45-60 minutes at SEA LIFE Kansas City and 2-3 hours at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City. Please see each attraction's website for complete hours of operation and last entry time for the attraction.
LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City is only able to provide tickets to a limited number of charities a month. If your donation request is selected your will be contacted with more information.
REQUESTS MUST INCLUDE:

- When the donation is needed by
- Date, time and location of event
- How the donation will be used (silent auction, live auction, raffle or door prize)
- Organization contact (name, phone number, email, mailing address)
Please Note:
- Organizations are limited to 4 (four) LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City regular single day Admission tickets per request.
- Organizations affiliated with political groups, religious groups, or controversial causes will not be eligible.
- Individuals, incentives programs, high school and college programs, sports teams and social groups will not be eligible.
